Thanks to the monthly contributions from Fountain members and supporters from our World Water Day 2025 events in March, the 820 residents of Omodoi Village, Uganda now have access to clean and safe water!

The residents of Omodoi no longer need to trek to a contaminated water supply. Children will now grow up healthy and strong and women will have an opportunity to start businesses.

First, a systematic hydro-geological site survey helped determine the best location to drill the well within the community.

The new borehole well was successfully drilled on April 14th, 2025!

Pump testing then confirmed that the yield and flow of water coming up was sufficient for the community and that drilling was successful. Not a drop of water was wasted!

Casting of the apron/base and run-off channel, along with installation of the manual hand pump and inscribing of the dedication, completed the construction.

After successful water analysis at the district and national levels and the delivery of new jerry cans to the Omodoi community, all that's left to do is celebrate!

Girls will now be able to go to school instead of walking hours every day to fetch dirty water. A new period of economic prosperity in the community has begun! Despair has been replaced by hope. Yes, it all starts with water, and it’s all because of heroes like you!
These words from Omodoi Villages say it all:
“Thank you for the gift of clean and safe drinking water. We have been suffering for long without clean and safe water in our village. One of our elders, Elau Michael, has been very sick, treating dysentery and dehydration constantly due to drinking unclean water. And, we have been having many other cases of typhoid here in the village. These sicknesses have been attacking us because we had no choice but to take water from unsafe sources. We spent a lot of money on treatment which could have helped us in buying food to change diet for feeding our families. Now we are very relieved and grateful for this wonderful gift of safe water you have given us. Our children will now be able to stay in school, and we shall be able to increase our food production from our gardens because we can spend more time on our farmland. We thank you so much and may God bless the Call to Care Uganda community and supporters abundantly!”
